Julie and I shared a room for a short time when she first arrived in Tanganyika, but when we  each had our own flats we remained good friends.    Our social life revolved around parties, the beach and swimming - to say nothing of a variety of boyfriends who  came and went! When Julie met Paddy and I met Harry the men hit it off immediately and we had some good times together - particularly as we managed to get adjoining flats.  When they went to Uganda of course we didn`t see each other but, back in U.K, we renewed out friendship and it remained so.  Julie was my oldest and dearest friend.  I will never forget her.
